What does a female FUE hair transplant procedure look like?

All female FUE hair transplants within the scalp are performed without shaving the recipient area, and the donor area is shaved in a strip approximately 10-15 cm wide.

This shaving method leaves hair both above and below the donor (shaved) area, allowing the shaved area to be completely concealed by the remaining hair.

We implant grafts into the recipient zone between the patient's existing hair.

Important Information: "Shock loss" phenomenon
It is common to experience increased shedding of the patient's native hair after the procedure. This process is caused by a temporary disruption of blood supply to the surrounding hair while making incisions in the recipient area or harvesting grafts. This is a completely normal symptom. The shed native hair will begin to regrow within 1 to 3 months.

When is a female FUE hair transplant the best solution?

Key qualification factor: Stabilized androgenetic alopecia process (or initiation of pharmacological treatment) and the absence of co-existing medical conditions.

How long does a female FUE hair transplant procedure take?

The entire procedure (depending on the number of grafts and the size of the area) usually lasts:
from 5 to 8 hours

How to prepare for a female FUE hair transplant procedure?

14 days before the procedure: Last hair salon visit and hair coloring (if applicable).
10 days before the procedure: Discontinue any dietary supplements and avoid taking aspirin.
7 days before the procedure: Completely refrain from consuming alcohol.
5 days before the procedure: Avoid strenuous spinal/back exercises.
3 days before the procedure: Refrain from drinking coffee.
Pre- and post-operative period: Quit smoking tobacco. Important: do not shave your hair before the procedure on your own.
The day before or the morning of the procedure: Thoroughly wash your scalp and hair. Do not apply any styling products on the day of the procedure.

Scalp area

FUE hair transplantation on the hairy scalp includes the following areas: receding hairline/temples, hairline, mid-scalp, and the crown (vertex). In the case of female hair transplant procedures, we do not shave the entire donor area. Instead, we only shave a strip of appropriate width, so that the hair above and below the shaved zone completely covers and conceals it when let down.

Hairline lowering

The hairline lowering procedure looks exactly the same as the regular scalp area treatment. The only difference is that the grafts are implanted below the patient's existing hairline.

Eyebrows

Restoring eyebrow hair typically requires approximately 400 to 850 grafts, depending on the degree of atrophy. The follicular units needed for the transplant are harvested either from the pubic area or the occipital/temporal regions.

Scars

Qualification for a hair transplant into a scar is preceded by a thorough examination of the scar tissue itself. We treat burn scars, traumatic scars, and scars remaining from previous hair transplant procedures. Grafts are harvested from the occipital or temporal areas.

Pubic hair restoration

We perform pubic hair restoration procedures, typically focusing on the mons pubis area. Grafts are harvested from the occipital and temporal regions.
