Are eyebrow transplant grafts the same as those used for a hair transplant?

Not every graft is suitable for an eyebrow transplant. In eyebrow transplantation, the proper selection and preparation of grafts are particularly important.

For eyebrow transplantation, delicate, thin, single-hair grafts containing a single hair follicle are primarily selected. They are most commonly harvested from the occipital area – the nape of the neck – as well as the temple area, where hairs with a suitable structure can be found.

Unlike a standard hair transplant, the hair in the donor area is not completely shaved during an eyebrow transplant. It is only trimmed to approximately 3 cm, which makes it possible to harvest longer grafts.

Each graft is carefully selected and prepared. If necessary, multi-hair grafts are appropriately divided to obtain individual, delicate units.

The grafts are then implanted at the appropriate angle and in the direction of natural eyebrow growth. Precision at this stage is extremely important for achieving a natural-looking result.

Thanks to the use of longer grafts and a technique that does not require complete shaving, the appearance immediately after the procedure can be very discreet. Usually, the most visible element is the marker used to outline the treatment area, which gradually fades during post-procedure care according to the recommended instructions. Temporary swelling may also occur in the following days.

Eyebrow transplantation requires greater graft selection and precision than one might expect. It is not only about the number of transplanted grafts, but above all about their quality, structure, length, angle, and direction of implantation.
